They have signed 8 agreements including one on logistical cooperation between their navies, both have exchanged views of various aspect of regional international issues of mutual interest in a principled position on maritime & defence security. indo-Asean nations is the criterion of strategic partnership. this initiatives are based on respect for sovereignty, territorial integrity, good governance, transparency, viability & sustainability.

India-ASEAN nations have reached important agreements on strengthening ASEAN unity and coordination, jointly improving global economic governance and promoting sustainable development. Asian countries have affirmed to deepen the multilateral security and defence cooperation with S Korea, Australia, India and other SE Asian countries. In contrary to China's assertiveness in the region at the expense of smaller nations including Indonesia, Malaysia, India-USA-Malayasia-Indonesia-Singapore would have stepped up defence cooperation & international military strategies to align their national maritime policies India’s Indo-Pacific policy of global maritime powers based on principles of international Laws on disputes & United Nations Convention on the Laws of the Sea.

The summit is a great opportunity for india-ASEAN countries reflecting their growing convergence on strategic issues in the indo-pacific regions and agreed to work towards upholding a rules- based order and ensuring respect for international law in the region.
